Speak Up and Stay Alive – Patients and Advocates Tell All

An e-book project utilizing real life hospital stories – helping patients survive a hospital stay through the experience of others.
Share your story or the story of a loved one. Only through sharing, can we help others avoid the many pitfalls and dangers associated with a hospital stay.

Please tell your story and offer suggestions on how the reader might do things differently to obtain a safer outcome. Keep word count under 2500 words.

Do not include hospital names, doctor or nurse names, city, state or anything else that might incriminate another party. As much as your story is factual, the publishing company cannot verify those facts and will not be liable for potentially defamatory or libelous text. The purpose of the book is to help others to stay safe through knowledge of your experience.

We reserve the right to refuse any story:

If the spirit of the content is unacceptable to the publisher
if the spelling and grammar make it too difficult to read
if we cannot open and use your file. Please send your story in a word document as an attachment.

To keep your meaning and voice intact, we will not edit your content, except for a simple spell check – so please review your story carefully before submission.

We will only publish your full name with your story. At your request, we will include one email contact information only. However, if you do not want us to include your full name, we can publish your story with a first name only or as anonymous.

Sale of book proceeds will go to benefit our United States veterans via Soldiers’ Angels pillowcase project (a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit) through the sewing efforts of Sewport Our Troops: http://www.sewportourtroops.com

The book content will be refreshed each time a new story is published, thus allowing for multiple versions and updates.

Therefore, the one-time $30 story entry fee covers the cost to:

transfer your content to an acceptable Kindle friendly HTML format
integrate the story within the book
properly upload the file to Amazon.com/Kindle
maintain the files and monitor file integrity
